Knowledge Exchange (KE) Concordat

QMU was one of the first Scottish universities to sign up to the new national agreement in which UK institutions commit to develop their knowledge exchange (KE) activities.

The Knowledge Exchange (KE) Concordat is a framework which was created in 2021 to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing between academia, industry and other relevant partners.

The KE Concordat aims to give universities and their staff and students clarity of mission and to support their development. It seeks to give organisations an accurate representation of the approach that individual universities are taking to KE and provide clear performance improvement indicators. In addition, the KE Concordat gives governing bodies and governments broad confidence in KE activities undertaken by universities and underlines mutual benefits of collaboration between universities and partners.

QMU is a member of Knowledge Exchange UK (formerly known as PraxisAuril), the professional body for KE practitioners working in universities, private and public sector research organisations in the UK who, in 2024 UK took over leadership of the KE Concordat.
