Knowledge Exchange
QMU is committed to working at the intersection of conventional disciplinary groupings to create innovative approaches to contemporary societal challenges and public discourse; and to making a significant contribution to the creation and sharing of knowledge that reaches and influences a broad range of regional and international stakeholders. Our approach to knowledge exchange values the initiation and sharing of research ideas that are focused on a broader perspective through the provision of a more holistic evidence base and added value for economic growth.
We continue to increase our knowledge exchange activities, commercialising our research and academic portfolio wherever appropriate, and promoting entrepreneurship and graduate start up.
The importance of innovation within QMU has increased significantly, with growing acknowledgement of the pivotal role it plays in enhancing our student experience and delivering impact. A major driver is the development and sustainability of a changing culture that supports the capacity of our staff and students to be entrepreneurial in a variety of contexts.
In 2018, in response to the opportunities presented by the UK Industrial Strategy, we launched the first QMU Innovation Fellowship programme, supported by the Scottish Funding Council’s (SFC) University Innovation Fund (UIF).
