IGHD's Research and Impact

At IGHD, we undertake collaborative, interdisciplinary research to tackle complex health and development challenges across fragile, crisis-affected, and climate-vulnerable settings.

Grounded in equity, resilience, and systems thinking, our work connects communities - from Scotland to the Global South, through respectful partnerships that advance justice, influence policy, and support locally led solutions for lasting wellbeing.

The Health System Resilience, Enhancement and Refugee Response Project

HSRERRP is a three-year research project, funded by UNHCR Geneva, which aims to document and learn from different approaches to meeting the health needs of refugees.

REBUILD for Resilience

Health System Resilience in Fragile and Shock Prone Settings

Co-led by IGHD, ReBUILD for Resilience is a UK-aid funded research consortium working to strengthen health systems in fragile settings through collaborative, scalable research in countries including Lebanon, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sierra Leone.

BASYC

Balancing Safety and Good Care during Infectious Disease Outbreaks in Uganda

This multi-disciplinary project examines infection prevention and control (IPC) practices in the context of care provision in Ugandan health facilities and communities facing recurrent epidemics.
