Promoting Good Practice in Research and KE

In 2023, the UK Research Integrity Office (UKRIO) published an updated Code of Practice for Research, which provides an essential support to researchers and research organisations in the conduct of research of the highest quality and standards.

The document outlines standards in relation to all aspects of research and KE, from its design, engagement with the public, data management, planning and managing resources, to dissemination of research outputs. It offers support relative to leadership, training and development, handling issues of competing interests and collaborative working.

As we work to develop our local guidance for good practice in research and KE, all colleagues in research and KE roles at QMU are encouraged to engage with this guidance to support their efforts at fulfilling the requirements of regulatory, funding and other bodies. They are also encouraged to share this information with internal and external project partners.

As a member of the UKRIO, QMU benefits from their independent and expert support of good research practice. If you have enquiries on any issues relating to the conduct of research, whether promoting good research practice, seeking help with a particular research project or advice on investigating cases of alleged fraud and misconduct, consider accessing the UKRIO independent and confidential Advisory Service. Alternatively, contact ResearchIntegrity@qmu.ac.uk for local advice and support.
