Founded by Arts and Cultural Management graduate, Mhairi Anderson, Creative Strathaven is a Community Interest Company that facilitates creative opportunities for the local community through various events including workshops, meetups and exhibitions.

Creative Strathaven has hosted multiple workshops on a variety of topics – for instance, screen-printing, illustration and embroidery. It has organised two monthly meet-ups (Cakes and Makes and Creative Socials) for local creatives as well as Christmas Makers Markets. In 2019 it opened a pop-up shop,  hosted an exhibition, and undertook its largest project to date - Generation Strathaven – which saw pupils from the local high and primary schools get involved in learning about local history and heritage through art.

Current projects – impacted by COVID-19 restrictions – include the opening of a multi-purpose space for exhibitions, events, meet-ups, workshops and retail space.
