Communication and Culture

Research in this cluster examines the intersections between communication and culture, exploring how culture in its forms (ideas, customs, social behaviours, shared values and beliefs, and more) emerges, circulates, and is reformulated through public, mediated and interpersonal communication.

Through its interdisciplinary – both theoretically and methodologically – research, the cluster aims to influence policy and practice and advance knowledge in the fields of media and communication. We explore discourses pertaining to issues important to current social or political cultures, such as food communication, identity, Covid communication, and work with critical dialogue to address inequality and marginalization.
