Next Steps and What to Do Next

Below is a short list of 5 things to do before commencing your QMU Induction

1: Complete Online Matriculation & Submit your Photo

Online Matriculation is QMU's online registration process. All students need to complete this process in order to study at QMU. Registry will send you an email once we are ready for you to complete matriculation, which is accessed via the Student Portal. More information on this process can be accessed via our website.

Once you have matriculated you can also submit your photo for your student card. The link for Photo Submission will appear on the Student Portal once you have completed matriculation. You will also be able to view your timetable via the portal once you have completed online matriculation.

2: Log on to your Account

Your username to access QMU IT systems is the same as your matriculation number. Your password is the one which you received when you matriculated.

Once you have received your password, you need to register with the Self Service Password Reset(SSPR), to ensure you can manage your own passwords

You can register for SSPR using this link. Sign in using your @qmu.ac.uk email address and password. You can then set up authentication to a phone, secondary email address or security questions. Once you are registered, whenever you are prompted to change, or you have forgotten your password, you need to go to passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/.

Please see our SSPR page for more information.

IT recommends bookmarking the above links for ease of access when needed.

In emergencies you can contact the Helpdesk for assistance.

3: Check your Induction Schedule

Our induction schedules are due to go live in July 2023 so please check back for updates soon.

4: Download the MyQMU App

MyQMU

MyQMU is QMU's dedicated mobile app for students and is essential for accessing your timetable, seeing your daily activity wall, your student account and much much more. Click here for more information on what the app can offer and how to download it.

5: View our Induction Checklist

Induction is a vital part of starting your learner journey at QMU. The sessions we have scheduled for you will give you the best chance of succeeding in your QMU career and will set you up with a good foundation of knowledge on how best to access our support services and the Library; get the best out of our IT facilities and what to expect from your course.

We therefore encourage students to attend all sessions. That's why we have created an Induction checklist so you can check you have everything covered.

We also understand that sometimes attendance isn't always possible, so if you miss a session, please use the checklist to catch up.
