The cost includes hot water, electricity, heating and internet connection and basic contents insurance.
Contract periods
The student accommodation is leased on a 38 week basis starting from Friday 4 September 2026, including Christmas and Easter.
If you are studying at QMU for one semester only then you may be eligible for a single semester contract. Please contact us for further information.
Please ensure you take time to carefully read the Terms and Conditions of your accommodation contract before accepting it. Once accepted, your accommodation contract is a legally binding agreement and you will be liable for accommodation fees for the full duration of the contract.
Payment options
Pre-payment
This payment is to be made by credit/debit card at the time of accepting your accommodation offer in order to fully accept your place in halls. This money is credited to the student’s residence fee account and shall be deducted from residence fees due for the complete residence period. Please note this pre-payment is not a security deposit and it will not be refunded at the end of your tenancy.
Payment methods
There are four ways to pay your accommodation fees:
1. Pay in Full via the Student Portal (All Students)
All students can pay their accommodation fees in full through the Student Portal using Flywire.
Flywire provides a secure payment service, allowing you to pay by debit or credit card, or by bank transfer in a wide range of currencies.

2. Pay by Two Equal Instalments via the Student Portal (All Students)
All students can pay their accommodation fees in two equal semester instalments through the Student Portal using Flywire. Semester 1 instalment to be paid on or before arrival and Semester 2 instalment due in the 1st week of January.

3. Pay by Instalments via the Student Portal (All Students)
All students can choose to pay by instalments through the Student Portal using Flywire.Your debit or credit card will be charged automatically over eight monthly instalments from October to May.

4. Pay by Direct Debit (UK Bank Account Holders Only)
If you have a UK bank account, you can pay your accommodation fees by Direct Debit over eight monthly instalments from October to May.
Additional Information
- New students can access the Student Portal after completing online matriculation.
- Returning students must renew their Direct Debit or Card Instalments each academic year.
