Local community members invited to join QMU’s Community Forum

People who are keen to know more about the work of Queen Margaret University, and how QMU’s work links with and supports the local community, are invited to take part in QMU’s next Community Forum meeting. The event will take place online on 8th November 2023 from 6:30-7:45pm.

Held twice a year, QMU’s Community Forum meetings offer the opportunity for community representatives and individuals living in the local area to interact directly with the University staff and discuss the University’s work and subjects of common interest. Each event provides a guest speaker from the University who discusses projects which may be of interest to local residents and groups.

At the up and coming November meeting, Professor Olivia Sagan, Director of QMU’s Centre for Applied Social Sciences, will give a short presentation on the work of the Centre for Applied Social Sciences at QMU. She will give an overview of what the ‘social’ in social sciences is – how QMU’s research is relevant, how people can get involved, and how the Centre for Applied Social Sciences can best serve the local community.

"This is a great opportunity to shine a light on fascinating and socially relevant areas of our work and for the University to hear direct from people in the local community. The Community Forum helps build connections, and the exchange of ideas helps strengthen initiatives for the benefit of all involved"
Jane Scott, Director of Marketing and Communications at QMU

Anyone interested in attending the Community Forum should register by emailing E: marketing@qmu.ac.uk. The full schedule for the event can be found in the events section of the QMU website.
