Studying at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh

At Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, we offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the specialist areas of healthcare; drama and the creative industries; media, communication and sociology; and business, management and enterprise. We also have a number of postgraduate research courses and continuing professional development (CPD) courses which will be of interest to anyone who is wishing to update their current professional skills.

Whether you are considering undergraduate, postgraduate or CPD study, we recognise that becoming a student is a big step. There are a number of factors that you’ll need to consider in advance, we are here to help and offer advice on a range of matters that may affect you.

If you have any queries about entry requirements, UCAS (for undergraduate applicants), or just general questions about coming to university, our Student Recruitment Team can help, advising you through all the stages of the application process.

If you live outside the UK, our International team is definitely your first point of contact at QMU. As an international student, you will have a different school qualification to our UK students and the International team are able to advise on what you’ll need to get into our courses. They will also help you make moving and studying in a new country a stress free experience. If you are thinking of coming to QMU as an international student, please visit the international students section of our website, where you will find information on applying, fees, language support and cost of living.

We also recognise that not every one leaves school and goes immediately to university: you may have spent a few years working, may be at college, or may be returning to education after having a family. For many postgraduate students, it will have been some years since studying at undergraduate level. At QMU, we consider all applicants over 21 as a mature student and we can provide information, advise and guidance on making this transition to university: you may have concerns about child care as you study, you may be scared about essay writing – whatever it is, we can help. Support for mature students is provided by the Student Services team, who can also give advice on disability, finance, student mentors and counselling, to name but a few.

Located only six minutes from Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, our vibrant campus offers a friendly and supportive community environment.

If you want to live in the on campus accommodation whilst studying at QMU, visit our accommodation section, which has details of prices and photos of our facilities.
