Coronavirus updates – LRC 7th October 2021
Because of the pandemic response regulations, we have had to make some changes to how the spaces within the LRC are used and how our service will operate.
The Learning Resource Centre
The Learning Resource Centre continues to be open to QMU staff and students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with study spaces accessible during these periods.
However, it is necessary for us to make some adjustments, which are set out as follows:
- Masks - must now be worn when moving around the LRC.
- For Post Grad Study - rooms 1123a and quiet study room 1123b remain in operation.
- Group study - available via room booking system.
Helpdesk
The Helpdesk is available via email between the hours of 8am and 7pm Monday to Friday. For Library queries, please contact lrchelp@qmu.ac.uk for all other enquiries please assist@qmu.ac.uk
New for 2021, we have an online form that can be used to log a query with the team, using this link
Our physical Helpdesk based in the LRC is open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, 11am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday (semester time only).

Service is available remotely for staff and students via MS Teams or Collaborate. Staff are contactable via email.

Any queries about any of the changes to the use of the LRC should be directed to the LRCHelp email at LRCHelp@qmu.ac.uk.in the first instance.
Atrium
The atrium tiers and 1875 are not part of the LRC. They have been designated as a workplace canteen under the COVID regulations and so can be used by students and staff. However, face coverings require to be worn and should only be removed when eating and drinking in this area. Access to the Atrium is available 24/7
The University is continuing to monitor closely and follow healthcare and government advice from Health Protection Scotland.
