At QMU we have a long tradition of welcoming students from all over the world. Around 25% of Queen Margaret University students are international coming from over 90 countries throughout the world.

Entry Requirements

For undergraduate courses:

We welcome applications from Indian students holding a minimum of 75% in their Higher Secondary School Certificate from a recognised Board .

For postgraduate courses:

We will consider applications from students holding a good Bachelors degree from a recognised university.


English Language Requirements

Students who do not speak English as their first language, and have not studied in the English medium, will be required to provide a recognised English qualification as detailed here.

Scholarships, Fees and Funding

QMU Scholarships:

The University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships of up to £5,000 each for new international students undertaking their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The scholarship is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee and is available to students who are self-funding with an international tuition fee of more than £9,000 for a single year of study only. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University.

Santander Scholarships:

Queen Margaret University is pleased to announce that a limited number of Santander Scholarships will be available to international students, up to the value of £5,000. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University. Please note that if you have already applied for a QMU Scholarship, we will also consider you for a Santander Scholarship and vice versa - there is no need to re-apply or to apply for both.

Scotland's Saltire Scholarships:

These awards are jointly funded by Queen Margaret University and the Scottish Government. Scholarships worth £4,000 each are available for Indian students studying on full-time Masters programmes at QMU. The scholarships are granted as a reduction of the tuition fee payable by the student.
