Aptitude Test in Hearing Aid Dispensing (Single Module)
The Hearing Aid Aptitude Test module has been designed to meet the needs of Audiologists who wish to become eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a registered hearing aid dispenser (RHAD). The module may be suitable for audiologists working in the National Health Service (NHS) or students graduating from audiology degree courses which do not have HCPC approval.
The module is delivered online, followed by an exam which can be taken at a location close to you.
The aim of the module is to:
- Provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to equip them for a career in hearing aid audiology;
- Develop key transferable skills in general use in employment so that students become competent in both autonomous practice and in team-work and
- Develop motivation and ability to engage in continuing professional development and life-long learning.

Start Date: June 2023
Duration: Typically around 8 weeks (6 weeks online, 2 weeks catch up time and then an exam)
Delivery/ location: The module is delivered online with a final exam at QMU.
Professional registration: On successful completion, this module will offer currently qualified audiologists the eligibility to apply to the Health and Care Professions Council for registration as hearing aid dispensers.
