I am a musculoskeletal (MSK) specialist physiotherapist, and qualified from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2009 with a First Class Honours BSc degree.
I started my career in a large NHS acute trust in Scotland and completed three years of rotations in trauma and elective orthopaedics, neurology and neurosurgery at the Directorate of Clinical Neurosciences, elderly orthopaedic rehabilitation, rheumatology, MSK outpatients, and cardiothoracic surgery. I specialised in MSK outpatients for 2 years within a primary care GP practice. I then moved into private practice and football, where I worked for 2 private clinics and an academy at a Scottish Premier League club. I also covered pitchside work within the Scottish Championship.
I gained experience in rugby with the Scottish Rugby Union, hockey and martial arts before working with the Scottish Football Association covering their Women's national teams of all age groups.
Currently, I still work as a physiotherapist in private practice and with the Scottish Women's National Football Team. I have a clinical interest in lower limb and ACL injuries, and specialise in the treatment of female footballers and female performance.
I am a trained pilates instructor and have studied strength and conditioning. I have a previous First Class Honours degree in Exercise Science from the College of Charleston in South Carolina, USA, where I completed a 4-year football scholarship. Previous to this I played semi professional football in the W-League in the USA for 7 years and also played for Hibernian Ladies and Scotland U19's.
I also run a not-for-profit knowledge exchange project called Women's Football Hub, which shares information on women's football performance, including sports medicine, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, injury prevention, sports science, sport psychology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, athletic development and podiatry.

I currently research injury and performance in women's and girls' football, and I am interested in both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
I teach on both the Sports Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy programmes. I specialise in musculoskeletal assessment, treatment and exercise prescription.
