QMU tops Scotland for career prospects and halls in student voted national awards

Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh has achieved strong results in the WhatUni? Student Choice Awards 2026, with students ranking the University first in Scotland for both career prospects and university halls.

The student‑led results also place QMU among the top universities in Scotland across a range of categories reflecting the overall quality of the student experience.

In addition to its top rankings, QMU is placed:

  • In the top four universities in Scotland overall
  • In the top two in Scotland for lecturers and teaching quality
  • In the top three in Scotland for international student experience
  • In the top three in Scotland for student support
  • In the top four in Scotland for student life
  • In the top four in Scotland for facilities
  • In the top four in Scotland for Students’ Union
  • In the top five in Scotland for postgraduate study

The WhatUni? Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) are the UK’s largest annual university awards based solely on the views of students, drawing on tens of thousands of verified reviews which assess key aspects of university life, from teaching quality to facilities and student support.
