Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh has expanded its multidisciplinary framework of online master‘s-level modules and award pathways to help professionals working in health and social care-related fields advance their professional practice.  These online modules and award pathways, within the newly enhanced framework, will be attractive to nurses, allied health professionals, audiologists, nutritionists, and other health and social care staff, who are looking for flexible personalised career development. The framework improvements reflect the changing needs of learners and that of the evolving health and social care sectors.

QMU’s Advancing Professional Practice Framework supports the enhancement of expertise across the four pillars of practice - Clinical Practice; Leadership & Management; Facilitating Learning; and Evidence, Research and Development. The modules offered are ideal for those with aspirations to extend their scope of practice, further develop their leadership skills, strengthen their competence in facilitating learning, or increase their knowledge and expertise in research & evaluation of impact.

The Advancing Professional Practice Framework welcomes learners from across the UK or anywhere in the world. The multidisciplinary modular framework sits in the University’s School of Health Sciences and is designed to fit with the demands of a busy professional lifestyle. It allows individuals to further develop their knowledge and skills, and practice-based competencies, empowering healthcare professionals to improve outcomes and optimise people’s experiences of healthcare.

The fully online provision means that learning can take place around work schedules and offers flexible study options ranging from part-time and single study modules, with routes to a range of PgCert/ PgDip/MSc Advancing Professional Practice awards. It also allows professionals to study within a supportive multi-professional community of online learners and build their peer networks.
