Charity cycle to be hosted for second year at Queen Margaret University

By Press Office

Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, is delighted to announce it will play host to a women's cancer charity cycle for the second year running in September 2020.

Women V Cancer Ride the Night Edinburgh 2020 will return to QMU thanks to the phenomenal success of the inaugural cycle held earlier this year, which saw hundreds of women gear up for a 50km or 100km cycle through Edinburgh in aid of Breast Cancer Now, Ovarian Cancer Action and Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust.

The night cycle - which starts and finishes at QMU's stunning campus in Musselburgh - takes participants past a number of historic landmarks including the Royal Yacht Britannia, Arthur's Seat, and Edinburgh Castle.

The University's own team - QMU Cyclones - entered the charity cycle in September 2019 and raised more than £2,200 for the women's charities. As a special offer, any QMU staff or students wishing to sign up for the 2020 event will be eligible for 50% off the registration price. Simply quote TEAMQMU2020 when you register.

Notes to Editor

Women V Cancer launched in 2010 with two aims:

In the last ten years, more than 20,000 women have taken part in Women V Cancer cycling challenges all over the world and in doing so, have raised £20 million. These challenges have also raised awareness of these invaluable charities, encouraged women to exercise and get fit, and have enabled the formation of many lifelong friendships.
