Get Involved

As a member of our alumni community, you are an important part of the QMU Alumni Network and there are many practical ways for you to become involved if you have time to give back to QMU.

Become an Employer Mentor

QMU invites you to share the story of your career with current students at the University.

The Careers Team has been working with the Alumni Team to build connections with graduates who are willing to share their career stories and perhaps come in and speak to students.

Students value the opportunity to discuss how they can apply their studies to the workplace as well as hearing invaluable advice about the recruitment and selection process as well as Continuing Professional Development.

If you are willing to do a short talk on your career development since graduating, or are keen to find out more about how you can help, please email us.

Or would you feel able to mentor current QMU students who want to enter the same field of business as you? If you would be willing to help our students, either by taking part in group discussions or being a "career path expert" and answering questions via e-mail, please get in touch.

Employ our Students

Employers want to recruit the best talent in the most efficient way possible. At QMU we are proud to have thousands of bright, highly motivated students keen to explore their career options beyond university.

Our Careers & Employability Team offers employers the possibility to advertise their vacancies to our students as well as conduct your recruitment processes in campus.

The quickest way to reach our students is to register as an employer with us. You can register online and manage your vacancies directly free of charge. This means you can add, change or delete your vacancies whenever your recruitment needs require you to do this. This online service will send automatic emails to QMU students and recent graduates who have registered their interest in your particular area of work. QMU online system allows you to advertise part time work, summer placements, internships, graduate jobs, vacation work and voluntary opportunities.

Become an Alumni Ambassador

We are always looking for alumni who can help us with our international activities. Our International Recruitment Team are keen to welcome our graduates to their recruitment days abroad. To find out more, please get in touch.

Join the Queen Margaret University Association

Founded in 1914, the Queen Margaret University Association holds regular networking lunches and social events for former students and members of staff. The most popular benefit of being a member of the Association is the use of Madras Lodge, their holiday house in Gullane. For more information visit the QMUA Website.
