Admission criteria are consistent with criteria for all other undergraduate programmes delivered at Metropolitan College and in line with the Greek Ministry of Education requirements. Applicants, to be considered for admission should hold a Greek Secondary School Diploma / ‘Apolyterion of Lykeio’ or equivalent e.g., International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, etc.) with a grade 10 or above. This requirement is in line with the Greek government’s minimum standard for access to higher education. Applicants, to be considered for admission should also present a criminal record and two references/letters of recommendation.

Metropolitan College has a positive approach to supporting students and disclosure of a conviction does not automatically result in the rejection of an application, or the termination of registration. For applicants who disclose minor criminal convictions, it might be reasonable to have a conversation with them to investigate and help gauge the information relating to the conviction and accept them on the programme depending on the nature of the offence and the length of time that has passed.

Applicants need to disclose unspent convictions relating to previous offences. They will be asked to give a full and frank account of the conviction to the member of admissions staff, who will then inform the Programme Leader and Dean of School. When making a disclosure students should bear in mind that, as well as the details of the offence and the sentence, Metropolitan College will consider the circumstances surrounding the offence and their explanation, as well as whether the individual's circumstances have changed since the offence.

High school leaving certificates issued by vocational Lyceums, such as TEE or EPAL and foreign certificates which are equivalent to the Greek Lyceum certificate (e.g. International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, etc.) are also accepted.

Non-native Greek speakers, may be admitted to the programme on demonstrating that:

a) They hold a qualification recognised by QMU for admission to undergraduate programmes, as documented in the University Admissions Regulations.

b) They hold a certificate of attainment in Greek at Level Β2

For more details (http://www.greeklanguage.gr/greekLang/certification/index.html)

Non-Greek nationals who have obtained this qualification through attendance in the Greek schooling system will be eligible for admission on the same basis as Greek nationals. Greek nationals who have been schooled overseas and have an equivalent qualification to the Greek Apolyterion of Lykeio   may be admitted to the programme provided that they submit a Greek language competence certificate accepted by the Greek Ministry of Education.

QMU and Metropolitan College welcome students from diverse backgrounds.  For all non-standard applications Metropolitan College will consult with the Collaborative Academic Lead (CAL) at QMU to reach a joint decision on the suitability of the candidate for admission to the programme. This process will seek to establish the suitability of the qualifications held and to jointly agree that both parties have a reasonable expectation before admission that an applicant will be able to fulfil the objectives of his/her proposed programme of study and achieve the standard required for the award sought.

As per QMU Regulations, the  Recognition of Prior Learning process will be followed: https://www.qmu.ac.uk/about-the-university/quality/committees-regulations-policies-and-procedures/regulations-policies-and-procedures/recognition-of-prior-learning
