Placements: There are clinical placements in each year of the programme, totalling 31 weeks. The allocation of the placement sites will be within Cairo Governorate hospitals with maximum 2 hours transportation distance.

Academic entry requirements are linked with the academic entry requirements for studying these programmes on the QMU UK campus but take account of the contextual and cultural differences between Egypt and the UK, and as such, the admission criteria are those listed below.

The Egyptian Certificate of General Secondary Education (Thanaweya Amma) * for which the overall grade will be determined annually according to the rules of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education coordination office responsible for setting the minimum limits for applying to Egyptian universities programs. The minimum levels in science and math's components required will be 60% and the following qualifications which have been deemed equivalent.

Students whose language is not Arabic (native speakers) must have the minimum level of Arabic is CEFR B2.   

Admission requires an IELTS score of 6.0, with no component below 5.5. Alternatively, students may be admitted with an IELTS score of 5.5, with no component below 5.0, provided they complete mandatory non-credit English language module during their first year.

Students take their first attempt at achieving IELTS 6.0 (with no component below 5.5) at the end of the second semester.

If unsuccessful at the first attempt, students have up to two additional attempts, one during the summer and the final one the following academic. They either retake the full test or specific components if their overall score is 6.0 but below 5.5 in any component.

Students who fail two attempts will be required to repeat the English proficiency module successfully the following year before progressing into Year 2. Failure to pass the English module after 3 attempts will result in the student being withdrawn from the programme.

All students applying for Physiotherapy will undergo a structured interview as part of the admission process. This will occur after they have demonstrated that they meet the minimum entry requirements and prior to issuing an offer of a place.  The structured interview will explore the applicant’s suitability for and motivation for a career in physiotherapy.
