QMU150: Anniversary events
As part of our programme of activities to mark our 150th anniversary year, we are planning a number of events to bring together our alumni, friends and supporters.
Upcoming events include:
- Head. Heart.Hand. : A new theatre production written by award-winning playwright and QMU graduate, Stef Smith on 19th, 20th and 21st February.
Events which have taken place so far include:
- Painting a Picture of University Life: an exhibition, which ran from 28 February to 21 March 2025.
- An In-conversation event featuring Sally Gray MBE on International Women’s Day, which ran on 6 March 2025.
- An open event, hosted by our the University Court, which ran on 16 April 2025.
- Celebrating the Past, Transforming the Future: a research conference, showcasing and celebrating the many ways in which QMU is making a positive impact in our ever-changing world through innovation, research and knowledge exchange, which ran on 19 June 2025.
- The official unveiling of our new public artwork ran on Thursday 28th August.
- The QMU Association held a lunch to celebrate 150 years of the University on Saturday 27 September at the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh. Visit their website for more details.
- A public talk and Q&A focusing on the life and educational legacy of Margaret, Saint and Queen, and also our Victorian founders, took place on 13 November 2025. You can view a recording of the event on YouTube.
- Opportunities for alumni to get together in various locations:
- London Alumni meet-up, which took place on Thursday 12 June 2025. E: alumni@qmu.ac.uk if you would like to be informed of future London events.
- Edinburgh Alumni catch-up, which took place on Thursday 30th October 2025. E: alumni@qmu.ac.uk if you would like to be informed of future Edinburgh events.
