Former Halls of Residence at Drumsheugh Gardens

This building in Edinburgh’s Drumsheugh Gardens was formerly one of our halls of residence, the fourth such premises that opened to accommodate students.

It was named Lorne House at the suggestion of Princess Louise, our Patron at that time, because Lady Lorne was the title she took on her marriage. The house was opened in 1933 and was also used as a training centre for institutional management students.
