SUDS Pond at QMU
A central feature of our campus is our large pond with decking. This is no ordinary pond, but a SUDS pond.
SUDS stands for 'sustainable urban drainage system', with the pond designed to capture rainwater from roofs and paved areas, holding it back on site and so helping prevent downstream flooding.
The pond's utilitarian purpose belies its beauty, and its value as a habitat for wildlife. It is a special place, much enjoyed by all the community.
