Interior Footage of Atholl Crescent

Found on cine reel in the QMU archive, the interior footage here captures Atholl Crescent in its final days as home of our institution, just prior to the relocation to our Clermiston campus in 1971.

Atholl Crescent was the home of the Edinburgh College of Domestic Science from 1891 until 1970. The street was designed by architect Robert Brown under a plan to develop the western end of the Edinburgh New Town in 1808, hence the name West End for the area, which today is part of the Edinburgh UNESCO World Heritage Site.
