First Classes Take Place at Royal Museum

Teaching at our institution first started on 9 November 1875, with classes taking place at the Royal Museum in Edinburgh. But a couple of years later, in 1877, our institution moved to premises in Edinburgh's Shandwick Place.

In 1909, the School was brought under the control of the Scottish Education Department, and in 1930 it became the Edinburgh College of Domestic Science.
