Persis Louisa Wingfield
This is a portrait of Persis Louisa Wingfield that we have stored in the QMU archives. She was the third principal of Edinburgh College of Domestic Science.
She was in post from 1932 until 1960, throughout which time our institution was world renowned for setting the standards for the training of domestic science teachers. She led the institution during World War II, and through to plans to relocate to Clermiston, with land acquired there in 1961.
