Cox has received several awards throughout his career, including a Scottish BAFTA and a Tony Award nomination for his work on Broadway.
He is passionate about education and has been involved in various initiatives to promote the arts, often speaking about the importance of creativity in society. As a university with a rich history in performing arts, we were delighted to present Cox with an honorary degree that recognises his commitment to inspire future generations in the performing arts sector.
Brian also took part in an ‘in-conversation’ evening at QMU where he was interviewed by the Scotsman theatre critic and visiting QMU lecturer, Joyce McMillan. The evening provided an opportunity for staff, students and visitors to hear about his upbringing in Dundee, and his rise to Hollywood stardom.
