Award Winning Actor Simon Callow at the Gateway Theatre
This is Olivier Award and Screen Actors Guild Award winning actor Simon Callow at the Gateway Theatre on Leith Walk, which was home to QMC’s drama staff and students. Prior to QMC’s acquisition of Gateway, it had been a veterinary college, cinema, a repertory theatre, and the STV studio.
The Gateway served students from 1994 until 2008 when it was closed over safety fears. The site is now a housing block. While the loss of the Gateway was felt keenly at the time, our drama provision has gone from strength to strength since then and in 2021/22 we celebrated 50 years of our work in this sector.
