Careers Support Whilst a Student

QMU Careers and Employability works with internal and external partners and employers to create opportunities for our students and graduates to develop their skills and Graduate Attributes.

We empower our students and graduates to make informed decisions, enabling them to achieve fulfilling and meaningful careers and positive futures.

We provide many services for students, staff and graduates - in the form of opportunities to meet an adviser, attend workshops, drop in sessions and clinics. Find the support that is right for you.

Whatever your year of study it is never too early to start thinking about your career. Our dedicated team of professional staff is here to help.

Drop-in Sessions

Advisers run drop-in sessions across the semester to deal with brief enquiries. No appointment is necessary. Please see Student Central for when these sessions are scheduled.

CV Clinics

A regular opportunity to bring along your CV, get it reviewed and receive some top tips. These usually take place in the Employability Centre during semester.

For more information and support see our section on CVs and Applications.

Guidance Interviews

If you are unsure of your career path and would welcome a discussion about your options you can book an appointment with an adviser (45 minutes). Book this through our student support system, Student Central.

We run a programme of seminars and workshops each semester. These are open to all students and cover topics such as CV writing, preparing for interviews and how to find a job. Book your place at our events through our student support system, Student Central.

Employability Centre

A comfortable space to conduct your career research and to chat with members of the careers team. The Centre is open from 9am to 4.30pm weekdays all year round.  Here you will find information to help you explore different career areas and make applications for employment and further study.
