Outdoor Learning Hub at QMU: The Wee Forest and Howff

The Howff – a sheltered gathering place in the Wee Forest.

Forests are home to hundreds of species of plants, bugs, rodents, and amphibians, providing an ‘all you can eat’ buffet for birds and larger mammals.  Our Wee Forest is part of a global citizen science project exploring the many benefits of planting trees.

Here is our Howff - a traditionally built shelter with a wildflower roof. Open to everyone at all hours, the shelter can be booked for activities and community use.

Gifts of this place: meeting, learning, looking after our wellbeing, creating, performing, being alone, enjoying and watching the natural world.
