Entry Requirements

For undergraduate courses:

Admission to our undergraduate programmes can be made by those holding a relevant diploma or other recognised qualification such as GCE A Levels, International Baccalaureate, American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s or other recognised qualification.

Applicants with Attestat will usually be required to undertake additional study, such as a relevant and acceptable foundation programme such as INTO, Bellerbys or Kaplan. Other alternatives include a relevant and acceptable college qualification such as a Higher National Certificate or Diploma from a UK Further Education College.

For postgraduate courses:

We will consider applications from students holding a good Bachelors degree from a recognised university.

Please note that the above is given for guidance only and that entry requirements will vary between courses. We may also be looking for a strong Statement of Purpose/Personal Statement, some work experience or specific subjects to have been studied at an advanced level. English Language Requirements

You should hold a recent English language qualification in order to be considered for study at Queen Margaret University.

English Language Requirements

For those applicants looking for additional English practice and study skills training prior to commencing their main course of study, the Effective Learning Service runs a four week Pre-Sessional English programme.

This programmes can also be taken by students who fall just short of meeting the English language requirements, as a means of reaching the desired level of English before the start of their main programme.

Scholarships, Fees and Funding

QMU International Scholarships:

The University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships of up to £3,000 each for new international students undertaking their first year of study on an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The scholarship is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee and is available to students who are self-funding with an international tuition fee of more than £9,000 for a single year of study only. Applications can be made by students who have received an offer of a place of study at the University.
