The John Watson’s Trust
The John Watson’s Trust provides young Scottish disabled students financial assistance for expenses associated with education and technical training. Grants offered by the trust range from £30 to £2000 and priority is given to students from the Lothian region.
The John Watson Trust operates primarily within Edinburgh and across the Lothians.
Whilst the Trust cannot accept requests for assistance with university tuition fees, funding is offered for educational expenses. These include:
- Equipment
- Research trips
- Books
- Travel to and from university
The Trust has several rolling deadlines throughout 2023. These are detailed below:
- 27th January 2023
- 10th March 2023
- 26th May 2023
- 28th July 2023
- 27th October 2023
Governors are unable to accept applications without a supporting letter from a teacher, social worker or GP stating why the funding is required.
Once applications are submitted they will be assessed at the next meeting of Trustees and applicants will hear back within two weeks.
