Intensive Communication Group for People with Aphasia Project

There are no intensive communication groups available to people with aphasia in Scotland at the moment.

Queen Margaret University received funding (£35,000) from the Headley Trust to investigate the feasibility of developing a model for people with aphasia as a result of a stroke. Following the success of the pilot the Headley Trust awarded a further £75k over three years to develop the model further.

The project also gives QMU an opportunity to investigate how this could support the University to provide students with scarce adult clinical placements and opportunities for meaningful interdisciplinary working.

Please see below for more about the background to the project.
