After a degree in Environmental Science from Bradford University (1979) I completed my PhD at Aberdeen University in 1983. Following various IT and systems development jobs I joined Queen Margaret in 1989 lecturing in Communications and Information Management. I gained a degree in Psychology in 2002 from The Open University.
I teach in the areas of media technology, media production (visual design and photography) and research methods. I undertake commercial work in web design and photography, mainly in the arts sector. Previous research centred on social informatics and new media in public relations.
