Ann Turner (MSc) is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader, Public Relations, in the Media Communication and Performing Arts Division. She is also an Affiliate member of the Centre for Communication, Culture and Media Studies.

Ann Turner is a Senior Lecturer and has been working at QMU since 2000. She is Programme Leader for the two undergraduate PR programmes: BA (Hons) PR and Media and BA (Hons) PR, Marketing and Events. She teaches a number of modules on the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, delivers programmes to senior practitioners undertaking the CIPR Diplomas and undertakes training and consultancy work. 

Prior to joining QMU, Ann was a Senior Lecturer at University of Central Lancashire deliver PR and Journalism courses. She moved into academia after a number of years working in industry for PR and Marketing consultancies.

Ann’s research interests include investigating the benefits of employee work-based volunteering schemes and the use and effects of humour as a persuasive technique in health communication.

Ann teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at QMU covering subjects such as Persuasive Communication, Media Campaigning, PR Research. She organises various events for students such as the Speed interviewing day to match level 4 students with host organisations offering internships, and the networking lunch bringing in employers to meet level 3, 4 and Masters students.

She also supervises undergraduate dissertations and CIPR Diploma Projects.
