Our planned annual electrical maintenance on our high voltage electrical system is scheduled for Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 June.

Whilst every effort is being taken to minimise disruption caused by these essential works, the Academic Building (including the LRC) will be closed for a period of time.

During the periods below the impact on Student Residences will have limited disruption to the hot water supply.

Please see below for details of closures and service interruptions.

Friday 1 June

The Academic Building will close at 12 midnight (and will not re-open until 2pm on Sunday 3 June – there will be no access to the LRC during this time)

The Sports Centre will close at the normal time of 10pm

Saturday 2 June

Remote access to IT systems will continue to be available while maintenance activities are undertaken (including remote access, campus internet in residences and all access to the QMU website).

The academic building will be closed.

The Sports Centre will be open as normal.

Sunday 3 June

The Academic Building and LRC will re-open at 2pm.

The Sports Centre will be open at the later time of 12pm.

There may be local interruptions to hot water supply to the campus residences between 11am and 2pm.

Estates staff are, of course, liaising with specific staff groups to manage the impact of the works, having agreed these dates with the University’s Executive Board.

Any questions prior to the works should be directed to assist@qmu.ac.uk

We thank you for your patience while these essential works are undertaken.
