QMU Chancellor Prue Leith awarded damehood in Queen’s Birthday Honours list

The Chancellor of Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, Prue Leith, has been made a dame in the 2021 Queen's Birthday Honours list. The celebrated writer, restaurateur, cookery expert and broadcaster has received this award for her services to food, broadcasting and charity.

In 2017, Prue became QMU's Chancellor, reflecting the affinity of her interests and experience with the University's expertise in food and drink, sustainable business, creativity and culture, and one of its fundamental values, social responsibility.

Sir Paul Grice, Principal and Vice-Chancellor at QMU, said: "We're delighted that our Chancellor, Prue Leith, has been made a dame in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. As Chancellor, Prue is very warmly regarded by students and staff alike and is a real champion for the University. We're thrilled to see her broader work recognised with this achievement. Congratulations, Prue!"
