Ties strengthened between QMU and Canadian institution

By Press Office

Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, has strengthened ties with MacEwan University in Alberta, Canada, through the expansion of an existing agreement that will enable more students than ever to take advantage of culture and media postgraduate study opportunities at QMU.

The MacEwan Partnership Agreement was established to provide MacEwan University students who have successfully completed the MacEwan Diploma in Arts and Cultural Management, and hold a relevant undergraduate degree, the opportunity to study QMU’s MA Arts, Festival and Cultural Management course with advanced standing.

An expansion of the agreement will now also allow students who have successfully completed the MacEwan Bachelor of Communication Studies (with either a major in journalism or professional communications) to enter directly onto QMU’s MSc Strategic Communication and Public Relations course or MSc Digital Campaigning and Content Creation course.

MacEwan University students on either of these routes will also be entitled to a MacEwan Partnership Scholarship that provides a reduction on their tuition fees.

Dr David Stevenson, Head of Media, Communication and Performing Arts at QMU said “I welcome our deepening relationship with MacEwan University, and we look forward to welcoming MacEwan alumni who choose to undertake postgraduate study at QMU.

“There is an excellent fit between our two institutions and I look forward to finding further ways in which we can collaborate."
