QMU partner institution lifts coveted business award

By Press Office

One of Queen Margaret University’s (QMU) partner institutions in Nepal was delighted to announce that it has been awarded a top prize in a nation-wide business competition.

Ace International Business School (Ace-IBS) – which has been in partnership with QMU since 2016 – lifted the winning trophy in the Marketing Excellence Competition 2019, organised by Worldlink Communications Ltd earlier this year. Worldlink is the largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Nepal.

From 20 entries, eight colleges were shortlisted to compete for the coveted title, which carries with it a cash prize of Rs.250,000 (£1714.42).

The team from Ace-IBS worked for a month with two mentors – one a seasoned industry expert and the other a dedicated Branch Manager of Worldlink). Together, they conducted industrial and competitor analysis, and market research of ISPs followed by the development of a new product based on that research and analysis. This led to the product launch, and development and implementation of a marketing and sales strategy for the new product.

Having impressed the judges with their submission, Ace-IBS were ultimately named winners of the competition at the grand finale ceremony held in Hotel Himalaya in Kupondole, Lalitpur.
