PR students mentoring visit to Scottish Government
Today (Wednesday 7 November) a group of PR, Communications and Marketing students from Queen Margaret University (QMU) had the privilege of meeting with a team of professionals working in the industry at the Scottish Government as part of a new initiative within QMU’s award-winning Employer Mentoring Programme.
This initial insight visit – hosted at St Andrew’s House - allowed students to meet with members of the Scottish Government’s communications team to learn more about their work. The visit also provided students with the opportunity to take part in one-to-one introductions with team members. This opportunity will enable the students to learn directly from those working with Scotland’s decision-makers at the most senior level.
Among the Scottish Government professionals taking part in the mentoring event are a number of QMU graduates. Their experiences in studying at the institution, before going on to secure exciting roles working as part of the Scottish Government, will provide the students with a unique and exciting insight into potential career development within the communications industry.
