QMU National Student Survey (NSS) 2018 Results

By Press Office

National Student Survey (NSS) results published today (27 July 2018) show that 82% of QMU’s students are satisfied with the quality of their course, an improvement from last year of 5%.

Of all the Edinburgh-based universities, QMU receives the highest score for overall satisfaction in the NSS 2018.

Compared to other universities, QMU scored particularly highly in the ‘Learning Community’ category, which is concerned with the sense of community at the institution and the opportunities that students have to work with their peers.  Students also ranked the Students’ Union highly for its work representing students’ academic interests.

Background information on the NSS

The NSS is an annual survey of final year undergraduates across the UK, asking them to evaluate the quality of their learning and teaching experience. In 2018, 80% of eligible final year QMU students completed the NSS.

UK wide results are available on the Office for Students’ website and subject results will be available on the Unistats website from 30 August.

The NSS is just one of the ways QMU gains student feedback. A number of other surveys run over the year for students at every level of study. The University uses this feedback to enhance the student experience and to help ensure that it is helping prepare students well for their future careers.
