QMU film director releases trailer for new feature film

By Press Office

Graham Drysdale, QMU’s Lecturer in Screenwriting & Film Production, has just released the trailer for a new feature film ‘Wigilia’ which takes its name from the traditional Polish Christmas Eve celebration.

The film's cameraman and producer Grant McPhee works as part of the camera team on ‘Outlander’ and has also worked on 'Game of Thrones'.

Graham, the film’s director, said: “January and February are quiet months within the film industry and fortunately, Grant had some downtime during these months in 2015. He challenged me to come up with a storyline and a concept which could be filmed in about five to six days, and generously provided his time, equipment and helped supply crew. It’s been great working with him and we hope to complete the project by March when it will then, hopefully, go out on the international festival circuit.”

The film stars Iwona Glowinska & Duglas T Stewart and focuses on a lonely Polish cleaner in Glasgow who prepares a traditional ‘Wigilia’ meal but her peace is disturbed by the arrival of an unexpected visitor seeking refuge in what he thought would be an empty flat. Both individuals are in need of sanctuary over the Christmas period.
