Queen Margaret University & Tourism Society Scotland Presents: “Impacting Scottish Tourism Through Stronger University-Industry Collaborations”

By Press Office

WEDNESDAY 25th NOVEMBER 2015, 4pm - 6.15pm. Queen Margaret University (QMU), Edinburgh, and Tourism Society Scotland (TSS) have teamed up to stage an interactive public engagement event ‘Impacting Scottish Tourism Through Stronger University-Industry Collaborations’, at QMU on Wednesday 25th November from 4pm.

The event aims to bring together TSS members and other key tourism industry stakeholders in an effort to discuss and explore how greater impact can be created through more closely aligned industry-university work placement opportunities in the Scottish tourism sector.

The event also aims to create a platform for developing a framework within which the Higher Education tourism curriculum is redesigned in alignment to the needs of:

  • both small and large tourism businesses;
  • the career goals of the primary customer – the student;
  • the roles and responsibilities of the education institution;
  • and the ever changing higher level employment criteria now demanded by the Scottish tourism sector.
