This innovative partnership exemplifies QMU’s commitment to supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and to assisting entrepreneurial students and graduates considering setting up their own businesses.

Commenting on his appointment, Steve said: “I’m excited to be joining the team and really looking forward to meeting and working with QMU students, graduates and the business community in East Lothian.

“I’m here to help with any aspects of starting up a new business and will be on hand to assist with planning, marketing and networking new businesses, and providing ongoing support.”

Miriam Smith, Business Development Manager at Queen Margaret University, said: “QMU has always wanted to be viewed as a real asset to its communities. This initiative ensures the University is supporting the local economy by driving business growth.

“The Business Zone will also support students and new graduates in developing their ideas into sustainable businesses, thereby creating a culture of enterprise within the University.”

Business Gateway is situated on the QMU campus within the Business Innovation Zone, overlooking the 1875 restaurant on level 1.
