Nursing and Allied Health Programmes - PBL information

Practice-Based Learning is a vital component of all the pre-registration health profession programmes at QMU, offering students the opportunity to further their learning within the practice arena.  Each profession has its own section (below) in which you will find information relevant to the pre-registration programme delivered. 

QMU also offers courses to equip healthcare professionals for the challenge of instructing healthcare students, or healthcare personnel, in a practice setting.  All days have registration at 9 am with training commencing at 9.15 am and will finish at either 1 pm (half day) or 4 pm (full day).  Our Practice Education Training (PET) days for 2020 are:

  • NHS Lothian, ½ Day Update 10th February, Royal Infirmary Edinburgh
  • NHS Borders, Introductory Day 25th March, Borders General Hospital
  • NHS Fife, Introductory Day 29th April, Queen Margaret Hospital
  • NHS Forth Valley, ½ Day Update 26th May, Forth Valley Royal Hospital
  • Queen Margaret University, Introductory Day, 12th August, Queen Margaret University

There will also be other training events running at QMU as follows:

  • NES in collaboration with QMU on Wednesday 22nd January (maximum of 25 participants)
  • Physiotherapy Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) CPD day on Wednesday 19th February between 10 am and 4 pm
