Class Descriptions
15/15/15 - A 45 minute class split into three sections. 15 minutes of spin, 15 minutes of strength and 15 minutes of HIIT.
Circuits - A combination of cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance exercises. Ideal for all fitness levels.
Fit for all - Low impact full body exercises suitable for all ages and abilities with a focus on wellbeing.
HIIT - A fun, heart pumping, total body workout that combines cardio exercises with strength and conditioning work in short bursts.
Kettlebells - Dynamic moves with kettlebells that help to develop strength, balance and cardio endurance. Suitable for all fitness levels.
Legs, Bums & Tums - A popular class which targets the legs, bum and tum area to shape and tone the body.
Learn to Lift - Whether you're a beginner starting your fitness journey or an experienced lifter seeking to refine your technique, this class is designed to provide you with the the knowledge, guidance, and skills necessary to lift weights with correct form and technique.
Outdoor Fitness - An exciting and invigorating outdoor fitness class within the campus grounds! Designed to be inclusive, fun, and cater to individual fitness capabilities, this class is the perfect way to boost your physical strength, endurance, and overall well-being while getting some vitamin D.
Pilates – Strengthen and tone muscles all over your body with these easy to follow and easy to perform low impact, low rep conditioning exercises.
Run Together - a dynamic and supportive running group that aims to bring together individuals of all fitness levels. The class offers a fun and inclusive environment for runners to train, motivate each other, and improve their running abilities.
Spin - Fun and invigorating cycling class that is great for increasing fitness.
Spin Express - A quick 30 minute blast of our popular fun and invigorating cycling class.
Strength Circuits - A strength focused class using dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells to improve full body strength.
Strength & Tone - A class designed to strengthen and tone the body using barbells and dumbbells.
Tabata - High intensity workout using a variety of exercises at intervals of 20 seconds work with a 10 second rest in between.
Walking Fitness - This group walk around campus is designed to improve cardiovascular fitness and elevate your heart rate. This brisk walk will help increase your daily step count and is a great place to start becoming more active!
Yoga - This class incorporates yoga postures, gentle movement sequences, breath work and relaxation. Suitable for all fitness levels, this class will support you to improve body alignment, strength and overall well-being.
Zumba* – Dance your way to a fitter you with this Latin dance workout.
*Additional charge applies as this is not included in the sports membership.
All classes are led by qualified and experienced instructors.
Bookings
Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance online at QMU Sports Centre Online Bookings, through the sports reception on 0131 474 0150 or by email at sportsreception@qmu.ac.uk
If you have booked a class and can no longer attend, please advise the sports reception as soon as possible so that the place can be re-allocated.

QM Sports Member: FREE
Non Member: Peak: £6.50 per class, Off peak: £5.50
