Class Descriptions

20/20/20 - An hour-long class split into three sections. 20 minutes of spin, 20 minutes of strength and 20 minutes of HIIT.

Circuits - A combination of cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance exercises. Ideal for all fitness levels.

HIIT Fit - A fun, heart pumping, total body workout that combines cardio exercises with strength and conditioning work in short bursts.

Kettlebells - Dynamic moves with kettlebells that help to develop strength, balance and cardio endurance.  Suitable for all fitness levels.

Legs, Bums & Tums - A popular class which targets the legs, bum and tum area to shape and tone the body.

Outdoor Fitness - A combination of cardiovascular, strength and endurance outdoor workout within the campus grounds.

Outdoor Suspension - A fun, full body workout using suspension trainers at our outdoor gym to help improve your strength, flexibility, posture and balance.

Pilates – Strengthen and tone muscles all over your body with these easy to follow and easy to perform low impact, low rep conditioning exercises.

Spin - Fun and invigorating cycling class that is great for increasing fitness.

Strength & Tone - A class designed to strengthen and tone the body using barbells and dumbbells.

Tabata - High intensity workout using a variety of exercises at intervals of 20 seconds work with a 10 second rest in between.

Yoga - Fairly energetic flowing yoga sequences with emphasis on alignment and building strength.

Yoga Flow - Elspeth will lead you through an energetic Vinyasa Flow session with emphasis on strength, posture and correct body alignment.

Zumba* – Dance your way to a fitter you with this Latin dance workout.
*Additional charge applies as this is not included in the sports membership.

All classes are led by qualified and experienced instructors.

Bookings

Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance  online at QMU Sports Centre Online Bookings, through the sports reception on 0131 474 0000 or by email at sportsreception@qmu.ac.uk

If you have booked a class and can no longer attend, please advise the sports reception as soon as possible so that the place can be re-allocated.

QM Sports Member: FREE

Non Member: Peak: £6.30 per class, Off peak: £5.30
