Class Descriptions

Ab Blast - A quick 15 minute intense blast of abdominal work.

Body Tone - Yoga and Pilates combine to improve flexibility, build strength and tone the whole body.

Boxercise - Fun, fast, high rep workout that builds muscular endurance as well as
strength. Ideal for all from beginner to advanced.

Circuits - A combination of cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance. Ideal for all fitness levels.

Insanity - A cardio class based on max interval training. This class will push you past your limits with athletic/plyometric drills mixed with intervals of strength, power, resistance and core training. No equipment or weights needed.

Kettlebells - Functional, compound exercises work multiple muscle groups simultaneously developing strength and muscular endurance and efficient caloric expenditure. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Pilates – Strengthen and tone muscles all over your body with these easy to follow and easy to perform low impact, low rep conditioning exercises.

Pump fx - Fun weights based exercise to music workout designed to improve muscular definition, build strength and burn those calories.

Row Fit - a 30 minute circuit style class using bodyweight exercises and the rowing machine.

Spin - Fun and invigorating cycling class that is great for increasing fitness.

Spin Circuits– Combining spin and circuits into one fun workout.

Spin Express - Fun and invigorating cycling class and a 30 minute blast!

Strength & Tone - A class designed to strengthen and tone the body using barbells and dumbbells.

Tabata - 30 minute high intensity workout based in the gym using different machines/equipment working at intervals of 20 seconds with a 10 second rest in between.

Tread Fit - a 30 minute class on the treadmill at a variety of intensity levels covering intervals, hills and flat sprints. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Yoga Flow - fairly energetic flowing yoga sequences with emphasis on alignment and building strength.

Zumba* – Dance your way to a fitter you with this Latin dance workout.
*Additional charge applies as this is not included in the sports membership.

All classes are led by qualified and experienced instructors.

Classes can be booked up to 7 days in advance through the sports reception on 0131 474 0000 or by email at sportsreception@qmu.ac.uk

If you have booked a class and can no longer attend, please advise the sports reception as soon as possible so that the place can be re-allocated.

Class Prices

QM Sports Member: FREE

Non Member: Peak: £5.70 per class, Off peak: £4.70

* Zumba: This class is not included in the sports centre membership, therefore a fee is required to take part. For more information on Zumba, please visit www.zumba.com or email angiedickson@hotmail.co.uk

Off peak times: Monday - Friday before 5pm and Saturday/Sunday 9am-4pm.
