QMU Deputy Principal officiates in Indian graduation ceremony
Queen Margaret University’s Deputy Principal, Professor Alan Gilloran, has officiated in the 2015 graduation ceremony at the University’s partner institution - the Institute of Technology Management (ITM) in Mumbai, India.
The University has been working with ITM for over a decade and, during that time, Professor Gilloran has been greatly impressed by the institution’s commitment to professionalising hospitality and tourism management.
ITM delivers QMU’s BA in International Hospitality Management programme to students in Mumbai. This year, the partnership between the Indian and Scottish institutions has seen 104 Indian students graduate with a UK degree from Queen Margaret University.
In addition, the first 14 students graduated for our new BA in International Culinary Arts from the Oshiwara campus in Mumbai.
Commenting on this year’s ITM graduation, Professor Gilloran, said: “At QMU we’re very proud of our partnership with ITM. Under the inspiring leadership of Professor Ramana and Professor Maureen Lobo, and with the dedication of staff, this institution is renowned for its innovative approach to education. As a result, their graduates secure prestigious jobs in high-quality organisations.”
