About You:
I chose this course as it is the qualification I need to progress in my career as a hearing aid dispenser.
The course is not run in many places, but fortunately for me QMU does run the course and as I live in Edinburgh with my young family it was a natural choice.
I currently work in a private hearing aid practice. I have been there for nearly 10 years doing administration but with this qualification I will change roles to that of hearing aid dispenser.
"For me the highlight of the course has been learning the practical skills that I will be using in my every day work, there's a real satisfaction in mastering something that seemed so daunting at the beginning!"
The Course
For me the highlight of the course has been learning the practical skills that I will be using in my everyday work, there's a real satisfaction in mastering something that seemed so daunting at the beginning!
For students thinking of taking the course I would recommend spending time shadowing an audiologist or hearing aid dispenser to find out exactly what the role involves.
I have no plans for further study after finishing the course, I think I will need a few years just to build up experience in the role. But after that who knows!
