About You

I graduated with my BSc Kinesiology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada and was determined to study my MSc Physiotherapy. I had a hard time getting into schools in Canada. After applying unsuccessfully, and working in clinics in Ottawa for three years, I chose to study overseas. QMU offered me the ability to live in the capital of Scotland and to attend a smaller sized university. I absolutely fell in love with the city of Edinburgh over my two years at QMU.

The Course

I found my course work fairly full on, especially in my first year. I found it more manageable as I was more comfortable in my second year. I worked part time in my second year. I got a bursary from QMU in my first year. I was slightly home sick during my first semester, but it helped that there were so many other Canadians in my same position, on the course.

Life After Graduation

Upon graduating, I returned to Canada to work as a physiotherapy assistant. I am now waiting to write my National Exam in Canada, after a process called “credentialing” which took a few months. I am very happy to have my MSc Physiotherapy under my belt. I just wish that I had applied overseas sooner.
