Structure

The module consists of one academic and one work-based learning component. Although approached from two perspectives, the module reflects the link between theory and practice to form an integrated whole. The theoretical component of the module will be self-supported through independent academic study. During this study the student will have access to the entire range of Queen Margaret University electronic library facilities as well as guidance to access those provided by the respective UK Health Departments. Students will be encouraged to consider the implications of the skills they are learning in relation to current research, medico legal, ethical and governance issues.

Entry requirements

Typical Entry: Applicants must be HCPC registered radiographers working in the Breast Care Service and hold an MSc/PgDip in Medical Ultrasound. They should be employed in a clinical environment offering ultrasound breast imaging experience at a level appropriate for postgraduate studies. Each applicant will be considered individually with regard to her/his ability to meet the demands of the course. Ultimately it will be the responsibility of the Clinical Departments to determine suitability.
